Tour of Hometown of Love Ballads Accommodation: Kangding

Depart early, drive along Chengdu-Ya’an Expressway beside Qingyi River, pass Erlang Mountain Tunnel and visit Luding Bridge. Pay tribute to revolutionary martyrs for their extraordinary feats, then head to Kangding, the famous city of love ballads, and check in hotel.

Visit Anjue Temple and Jingang Temple to learn profound Tibetan Buddhism culture, and take casual photos in downtown Kangding. After lunch, cross Zheduo Mountain at 4200 meters above sea level and arrive at Xinduqiao, the well-known photographers’ paradise.

 Set off for Tagong Grassland. You may voluntarily visit Tagong Temple, a prestigious Sakya Tibetan Buddhist temple known as Little Jokhang Temple, admire magnificent Yala Snow Mountain and wander on the scenic grassland covered with blooming colorful wild flowers. Enjoy box lunch on the way and appreciate pastoral scenery of Bamei Grassland, Reshui Pool and primeval birch forest. Arrive and settle in local folk houses in Danba in the afternoon.

 Tour Jiaju Tibetan Village after breakfast. Danba is hailed as Kingdom of Ancient Watchtowers. Countless watchtowers scatter along river valleys, standing in groups or alone on mountain ridges with neat spectacular layout. Experience authentic local customs and culture and meet graceful Danba ladies. You may also visit Suopo Ancient Watchtower Group or explore downtown Danba freely.

Depart Danba via Wadan Road and Luding to Hailuogou Glacier Scenic Area.

Whole day shooting stunning glacier scenery. Take sightseeing bus and cable car to No.3 Camp and grand Great Ice Waterfall, and capture magnificent glacier views fully.

Accommodation: No.1 Camp

Pass Erlang Mountain Tunnel and Tianquan, arrive at Shangli Ancient Town in Ya’an. Taste authentic local farmhouse dishes and visit sacred White Horse Spring. Return to Chengdu by chartered coach in the afternoon. Bullet train rides can be arranged afternoon or evening for guests heading back to Chongqing same day.
